Dr. Roger Bendle

Dr. B grew up in both Ottawa and Montreal. He completed his studies in marine biology at the University of Victoria in 1985 and then chiropractic at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1989. He set up his first clinic in Quebec city where he practiced for 10 years before moving back to Vancouver in 2000. He has been in practice at Denman Chiropractic Acupuncture & Massage ever since.

Dr. B is an active boater which is what compelled him to set up shop in Vancouver and more recently in Port Hardy. When he isn’t working some magic on someone’s spine he is most often found tinkering on his boat or exploring the BC coast.

TECHNIQUE

Chiropractors specialize in the conservative treatment of spinal and spine related health issues. This includes all the neck and back pain conditions but also many other health issues related to an irritation of the nervous system at the spinal level.

Spinal manipulation is the treatment which distinguishes chiropractors from all other health care providers. It is the specific application of a gentle high velocity thrust through spinal joints with the objective of restoring normal movement, alignment and nervous system tone.

Dr. B uses a combination of chiropractic techniques. The  oldest tried and true approach is called ” Diversified Chiropractic Technique ” were one can hear or feel an audible popping sound when the adjustment is applied. Another frequently used technique is called ” Drop Adjusting ” were one uses drop sections on the chiropractic table to gently manipulate the spine without the popping sound. Finally, Dr. B  may also use a device called an ” Arthrostim” which is a handheld electrical device that produces a gentle mechanical pulse that adjusts a spinal joint.

Each person is unique in how they will respond to a given technique. It’s part of the chiropractors job to find out what works best.
